10 Years this year!

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

2010 marks the tenth anniversary of SR Print Management being “born”.  Having been in the print business many years already, I decided to start SR Print Management to try to be different from just being “another” printer. I wanted to be able to handle all my customers requirements.  Not having one specialism means we can supply almost anything printed, and not being tied to one production schedule means we can be lightening fast on deliveries where required - these are just two of the things that differentiate us from other printers.

Many companies claim “Customer Service” as one of their Unique Selling Points, but I truly believe ours to be great.  A recent survey we conducted, thankyfully confirmed this.  In the survey 100% of respondents said that they would recommend us (thats better that 8 out of 10 cat owners recommending Whiskers!).  Thank you to those that took the time to complete the survey, the results were very positive, a few suggestions were made which we are now trying to put in place (some already have been).  Perhaps the most surprising result on the survey was that 56% of respondants turned down the opportunity to get sweets or chocolate as a reward :-)

To celebrate 10 years, you will notice a little emblem appear on our paperwork from now on.  This is because we are very proud of the achievement in what is a tough market place at times.  I am sure I speak on behalf of my staff when I say that we still “love” print.  If you read the trade press it pretty much mirrors the national press… doom and gloom.  We don’t believe in doom and gloom at SRPM, we relish the challenges that our clients set us on a daily basis.  Living up to and exceeding our customers expectations is the reason we take on those challenges, employing great people helps us achieve this.

Fantastic at customer service

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

My family and I had a great trip to Orlando in Florida recently.  The weather was of course brilliant, Disney was exactly what you would expect it to be - fun and expensive.  The thing that suprised and delighted me the most was the fantastic customer service.

It was my first trip to the states and I had heard that customer service was good - but it still surprised me just how nice people are in shops and restaurants.  The fact that I was so surprised lead to me question why?  The only answer I can find is that customer service has become so poor generally in the UK and I was therefore not used to it.  I am not of course including everyone in this, but how often do you reach a cash till and the person doesn’t even say “please” or “thank you”.  Simple manners are the very least we should expect.

In most of the restaurants we sampled, the service was above and beyond simple manners… we were given suggestions for each course, free top-ups on all soft drinks without asking.  We were asked about what we had done that day, where we were going tomorrow.  I know that many workers rely on tips to make up their wages and maybe this focusses the mind, but training must be one of the issues we need to address in our country.

Good customer service is hard to come by, it is something I try to instill at SR Print Management, and to this end we now have a customer service guarantee in place.  Please do ring me to ask about it - I have yet to find anyone else making the same offer!
